Movements expected: a dynamic building envelope
The open and airy structure is under constant movement due to the construction method. Together with SIGA, the products were adapted to the dynamic requirements of the building and a flexible solution was found for the connections of the external facade elements. The training of the employees was undertaken on the building site - that way safe application was ensured and delays in the process were avoided at the same time.
SIGA was contacted by Vianen Gevelelementen and builders VORM / Besix at an early stage of the project. For the airtight energy sealing of the standard solutions such as Corvum and Fentrim 20 were used. Vianen Gevelelementen has long relied on the high product quality and simple and fast application of SIGA products.
A sustainable prestige project for Amsterdam
The award-winning Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) designed the Sluishuis together with BARCODE Architects from Rotterdam. At the hotspot Ijburg, 442 carbon-neutral flats are being built according to the highest sustainable standards. Barely 20 minutes from the centre of Amsterdam, the residents have direct access to the water. The building is being constructed on the river. With its jetties, piers and terraces open to the public it invites not only the residents of the Sluishuis to hang out and relax.
