Sustainable sample project with a lot of green space
In addition to the hotel and the residential, commercial and catering spaces, a bicycle station is being developed with approximately 2,100 public parking spaces as well as an underground car park. A recycling depot is also planned for the railway.
The project is considered a textbook example of urban land recycling, as it sees a long unused brownfield site in the city centre area converted and enhanced without other green spaces having to be integrated in the process. Accordingly, the project was awarded the polis award for urban and project development in 2018.
Thus, in addition to a new, attractive back of Münster’s central station, a particularly sustainable building is also in development: as a beacon project for sustainability in the region, the Hansator is to receive a gold certification from the DGNB (German Sustainable Building Council).
Second water-draining layer
Due to the high demands regarding permanent and sustainable sealing of the windows, the construction manager contacted SIGA. SIGA provided targeted support in the planning and execution of the second water-draining layer and trained the window companies and facade builders involved directly on the building site. Thus, the windows were sealed correctly, permanently and in a time-saving manner with the SIGA Fentrim high-performance adhesive tape.
